Born of both optimism and distress, the concept for bareCommunication materialized from Houston-based writer and editor, Dusty Gilbert, at a turning point in her career. Observing the state of the media industry and personally feeling the pressure of a dying trade, Ms. Gilbert envisioned hope for the future in the fundamentals of the past. With a vision of “shiny happy people holding hands,” Ms. Gilbert believed her idealistic view could actually be achieved by rediscovering the power of intention.

Armed with only a concept, in the summer of 2008, Ms. Gilbert officially took the plunge and decided to make her dream a reality. On a one woman mission to strip away spin and reinstate the story, bareCommunication was established as a private communication firm committed to the strictest standards of integrity and excellence in the areas of journalism, public relations, traditional marketing, experiential marketing and advertising.

 

Just a few short months later, the excitement surrounding the concept was gaining momentum rapidly. With business owners, journalists and consumers excited about the breath of fresh air, bareCommunication assembled a team of industry professionals boasting not only experience, but the bare vision. Finally, making a creative home in an industrial-chic studio space at Winter Street Studios, bareCommunication was open for business surrounded by a plethora of creativity and the mission to change the way the world communicates.

 

bareCommunication strives to promote businesses organically – and by organic, we mean organic – no additional BS, straight out of the ground, honest and true communication – much like an organic veggie. Organic communication aims to move beyond the traditional "features-and-benefits," “fear-based” and “spin” marketing to encompass a larger target audience that connects consumers with brands in personally relevant, creative and memorable ways.
